Abstract

The article examines the biological and epidemiological characteristics of the hepatitis A virus (HAV), its prevalence, transmission mechanisms, and transformation of the epidemiological profile in the context of global changes in sanitary and hygienic conditions. Factors influencing the dynamics of morbidity, as well as the consequences of reducing childhood morbidity for the age structure of the infectious process, were analyzed.
